The study of unemployment is of particular importance because this phenomenon affects both economic and social life. In this regard, analysing unemployment contributes to a better understanding of labour market mechanisms and of the way in which the economy responds to internal and external changes. This paper aims to analyse unemployment from both theoretical and practical perspectives. The first chapter presents the main theoretical aspects of unemployment, namely its concept, characteristics, causes, classification, effects, and measures aimed at reducing it.
