Abstract

In the year 1989 there was a common celebration going on all around the world as the Berlin Wall fell and Western capital was crowned winner of the Cold War. One of the characteristics of the feared Soviet regime was of course censorship. The western mind would not perceive the idea of censorship as a reality in their geo-political hemisphere. However, as time went on the brave new world proved itself cowardly in other ways. In this article we will analyze how censorship worked in the west during the Cold War and how those tepid seeds grew into a new form of censorship.
