Competitive examination Methodology

1. The competitive examination will take place according to the methodology in force (H.G. Nr. 457/4.05.2011):  PDF(181,3 KO)

2. For the positions of Associate Professor, the minimal conditions for submitting into the competitive examination are the ones according to the  OMECTS Nr. 6560/20.12.2012 (63,1 KO), the Order regarding the approval of minimal necessary and compulsory standards for granting the didactic titles in Academic Education and of professional titles of research and development published in the Romanian Official Gazette, part I, No. 890 and 890bis /27.12.2012, and

3. For lecturer, position 20, the minimal conditions are the ones provided in the Competitive Examination Methodology of “Agora” University:  PDF (332,7 KO)

The files for the competitive examination

will contain the following documents:

1.    The standardized application form, downloadable from:  RTF (17,6 KO) );

2.    The affidavit on the validity of data presented into the file and the lack of incompatibility situations presented into Law 1/2011;

3.    The checking list regarding the fulfillment of minimal standards of “Agora” University for occupying the didactic position (standardized form is downloadable);

4.    Legalized copies of the following documents: a) birth certificate, b) documents that prove the changing of the name (marriage certificate or other documents), c) documents that prove the studies: Baccalaureate Diploma, Bachelor Diploma, Master Diploma, Ph.D. Diploma or any other replacing documents provided by law);

5.     Copies of: a) Identity Card or Passport (or any other documents provided by law), b) the Romanian Official Gazette where was published the vacant position (downloadable):  PDF (68,2 KO) );

6.    Curriculum vitae of candidate standardized and electronic format;

7.    The list of papers – standardized and electronic format;

8.    The resume of the Ph.D. Thesis in Romanian and English Language (max. 1 page);

9.    Publications, or any other papers in electronic format, selected by the candidate and considered to be relevant for the professional accomplishments in the field of the title to be rewarded (maximum 10 papers);

10.   The plan for the development of the future university didactic and scientific career (the plan is to be made by the candidate of maximum 10 pages and is one of the most important criteria in the candidates tie).

Competitive examination procedure (for all vacancies titles):

The Competitive Examination Commission evaluates the candidate by the following criteria:

1) The relevance and the impact of the scientific research of the candidate (papers presented and published in journals and volumes of conferences, the quotes, etc.);

2) The didactic competences of the candidate (candidate’s capacity to lead students and young researchers, editing and publishing course and seminar books, the ability to use modern didactic technologies and e-learning instruments);

3) The capacity of candidate to transfer his/her knowledge and results towards the economic and social domain and to disseminate his/her own scientific results;

4) The capacity of the candidate to work in a team and the efficiency of scientific research on behalf of the specific of the title to get;

5) The capacity of the candidate to lead scientific and development projects;

Professional competencies of the candidate are evaluated by the Competitive Examination Commission by the following stages:

Checking the file in order to fulfill all the minimal standards by analyzing the checking document of minimal standards in the methodology, verifying the information on the curriculum vitae, list of papers and the content of the papers attached in the file.

This stage is to be appreciated by each member of the Commission by giving grades from 10 to 1, the result being the arithmetic mean of all the grades.

The minimal standard of passing is to obtain minimum 7, this correspond to the fulfillment of the minimal standards in the methodology.

For higher scientific research results the points are given according to “Agora” University methodology.

Stage I. Public exposition

The evaluation of a public exposition is of minimum 45 minutes, when the candidate presents the most significant results and the plan of future development of his/her university didactic career. For this part of the evaluation are compulsory questions addressed by the Commission and by the present public.

“Agora” University posts on intern notice board and on its web page, with minimum 5 days before the competition, the day, the hour and the exact place where this is to be held.

This phase is to be appreciated by each member of the Commission by giving grades from 10 to 1, the result being the arithmetic mean of all the grades.

The plan of future development of university didactic career must be developed according to the requirements of the methodology and is a very important criterion in noting this stage of the contest.

The minimal standard of passing this stage is obtaining 7.

Stage II. The lecture in the field of study

The evaluation of the lecture in the field of study shall be from the subjects that were announced.

The subject for the exposition is given by the Commission and the candidate is announced with 48 hours before the day of this stage of the contest.

On this exposition, the members of the Social Sciences Department may participate.

This phase is to be appreciated by each member of the Commission by giving grades from 10 to 1, the result being the arithmetic mean of all the grades.

The minimal standard of passing this phase is obtaining 7.

The final minimal standard in order to pass the exam is to get an average of at least 8 for the three phases together and minimum 7 for each phase.
